How large is ANPROS’ membership?

ANPROS membership represents approximately 95% of the companies involved in seed activities in the country.

How many companies are associated with ANPROS?


At present there are 70 associate companies.

What companies can form part of ANPROS?

Any private company engaged in activities related to the production, marketing, research, export or import of seeds can apply for ANPROS membership.

How can I join ANPROS?

ANPROS has a set of regulations for its members, which clearly establishes the requirements for joining the Association. What is the importance assigned to seed exports in the agricultural and livestock sector in Chile?


According to the latest official figures provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Chilean seed industry occupies fifth place in agricultural and livestock exports and represents US$ 194.5 million per year.

Which international agencies currently regulate seed activities at a world level?


There are basically four: The International Seed Federation (ISF) groups the domestic associations and private companies, of which ANPROS forms part. The OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) provides guidelines for seed certification. Intellectual Property matters are governed by UPOV (International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants).  Laboratory analyses are ruled by ISTA (International Seed Testing Association). The agency representing us at these organizations is the Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero (SAG).

Of which international organizations is ANPROS a member?

ANPROS is a permanent member of the International Seed Federation (ISF), the Seed Association of the Americas (SAA) and the Asia & Pacific Seed Association (APSA).
